It won’t weigh you down. There’s no chardonnay heft here, and instead this 2019 viognier brings crisp, polite sweetness, gooseberries and gardenias on crisp clean sheets, no blanket. A pyrolytic sweetness so benign you almost can’t trust it, until oak’s upright woodiness sidles in. Plenty big, but different big.
