Issue 12: PARTY
This back-issue of EATEN served as breath of fresh air in the most covid of times (first published in Autumn 2021), and continues to intrigue in it's unique exploration of the PARTY. Too perfect a theme for VNTNR not to stock it, the 12th issue of EATEN jumps all over the place as one often does at a party, and includes a collection of recipes compiled by the Women's Department of the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893, Salvador Dali paintings and quite a few spreads dedicated to 'tumpeng' from Indonesia. There's a moment for champagne and some funny old photos of cats, too.
About EATEN: An independent print magazine with a cult following↗, EATEN is all about food history and was founded by American-born, Cambridge-educated, and France-based editor-in-chief, Emelyn Rude in 2017. EATEN is published three times a year, and brings together old recipes and archival articles, contemporary essays on food and culture, as well as personal tales by interesting characters from around the world.
